What Makes Us Different
BridgePath was designed to provide families with the answers and support they need to make the right decisions along the way. We fill in the blanks and answer the growing number of questions families have when they choose to homeschool during high school. Families decide to homeschool for a variety of reasons. The decision can be scary and often comes with considerations such as:
- Which curriculum is best? Should we choose an online school, hybrid school, or make our own curriculum?
- Should my student be participating in community service?
- How do we create transcripts?
- Are there college scholarships that require service hours?
- Does the NCAA require foreign language courses for athletes?

Our Founder's Story
When Dr. Marla Friedman watched her son struggle through four different high schools in four years, she knew something had to change. As a mother of a student-athlete with learning disabilities and ADHD, she experienced firsthand the challenges many families face in finding the right educational path for their children. Dr. Friedman’s son is now a D2 athlete majoring in Cybersecurity with straight A’s.
"Every child deserves a chance to succeed," Dr. Friedman often says, reflecting on her family's journey. Her son's battle to balance athletics with academics, while managing learning disabilities, opened her eyes to a pressing need in education.
Drawing from her 27 years of experience as a college professor, director of a private high school, best selling author and national speaker, Dr. Friedman channeled her expertise and passion into creating BridgePath Prep, an online community for homeschooled families. As the fastest growing sector of education in the U.S., today there are over 3.7 Million homeschool students.
"We're not just preparing homeschoolers for college and careers," Dr. Friedman explains, "we're preparing them for life." Bridgepath Prep equips students for real-world skills like artificial intelligence, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and communications. The goal of BridgePath Prep is to provide resources, and support to help homeschoolers identify their goals after high school and the steps to take to reach them.
